How to prepare for shelter installation

1. Choose the type of shelter that interests you

The first step in the process of building a personal shelter is selecting a specific model that suits you and your family, tailored to your needs. In our company, you can choose from three main types of shelters, each available in multiple variants depending on the depth of excavation you desire. Additionally, the Comfort variant comes in four versions. You can find all of them below:

2. Consider additional features for your shelter

Already at the stage of purchasing a shelter, it’s worth considering what additional features you want to install to significantly improve comfort and be able to stay in the shelter for many days without leaving. With that in mind, we have prepared a range of amenities for our customers to choose from. These include bunk beds, a gas stove, a fridge, or a toilet. You can find a full list of shelter add-ons at this link.

3. Choose the location for your shelter

With the shelter and its additional features chosen, and the order placed, it’s time to select the appropriate location for your shelter. It’s essential to consider a discreet location that won’t attract attention from neighbouring residents or potential enemies, if necessary. Discretion is key here, so try to organise the space for the shelter in such a way that only you and your closest family members know its location. Any visually inaccessible place behind the house, covered by dense vegetation, a gazebo, or any other type of structure, will work well.

4. Prepare a suitable pit for the shelter

After selecting the best location for the shelter, remember to dig a pit of the appropriate dimensions — both in terms of length, width, and depth. The length and width should be exactly 6,000 mm and 42,000 mm, respectively. As for the depth, it will vary depending on the variant you choose. For a shallower shelter, the depth will be 3,539 mm, while a deeper shelter will require a pit depth of 4,539 mm.

5. Install the shelter in the prepared pit — either by yourself or with our help

After choosing and preparing the shelter location, it’s time for assembly. Fortunately, our shelters are very simple and quick to install — all it takes is one afternoon with one helper to completely self-install a shelter on your plot. However, if you prefer to entrust the assembly to professionals, you can also order this service from us. Without any heavy machinery, we can discreetly and quickly install your shelter for you.

6. Try to camouflage the area above the shelter

After installing the shelter, make sure that the surface above it looks as natural as possible. This is crucial for the effectiveness of personal shelters — they should be invisible to outsiders. Therefore, ensure that the area above the shelter does not stand out too much from the surrounding environment. Take care of this in advance to be sure that the location of your shelter is known only to you.
